| As
a psychotherapist practicing in Santa Cruz
County for over 25 years, I began working
primarily with chemical dependency and
relational issues. Over the years it has
become clear to me that addiction in all it's
many forms (alcohol, drugs, over-eating,
addictive sex, etc.), generally originate in
early life neglect and /or abuse.
Without
treating the inner self, the primary causes
for our self-distortions remain, and the cycles
of personal and interpersonal dysfunction remain
as well. My recent training has moved me
toward the psychoanalytic and psychodynamic
approaches for getting to these deepest levels
of healing.
